What is 7/8''-16 UNF?

7/8'': It refers to the outer diameter of the threaded portion, which is 7/8 inch.

6: It indicates the number of threads per inch (TPI) on the connector, which is 16 threads.

UNF: It stands for Unified National Fine, which refers to a fine thread standard used to describe the specification of fine threads. Compared to Unified National Coarse (UNC), the pitch between UNF threads is smaller, providing better tightening and sealing performance.

Introduction to Supported Communication Protocols:

7/8 connectors support a variety of communication protocols, such as DeviceNet, CANopen, Profinet, CC-Link, AS-Interface, CAN Bus, Profibus, and NMEA2000. Here is a brief introduction to some of them:

1. CAN Bus (Controller Area Network)

CAN Bus is a serial communication protocol used in automotive and industrial applications, enabling reliable, real-time data exchange between multiple devices over a single network.

2. DeviceNet

DeviceNet is a communication protocol used in industrial automation and control systems. It is designed to facilitate communication and data transmission between devices such as sensors, actuators, and controllers in a networked environment.

DeviceNet usually uses the M12 connector, but it can also use other connectors such as 7/8-16UN.

3. NMEA 2000 (National Marine Electronics Association 2000)

NMEA 2000, also called N2K and NMEA 2K, is a communication protocol based on CAN bus for marine and marine applications, allowing different marine electronics like GPS, sensors, and displays to communicate seamlessly on a standardized network.
